Strategy & Services: Cresa Partners brought stok in to provide project management services for non-profit consultancy Bridgespan Group’s new San Francisco office, replacing a prior project manager. stok led the coordination between the design and construction team on behalf of the local client as well as Bridgespan’s Boston-based management team, and ensured that the group’s move into their space was reflective of their values of collaboration, respect, candor, impact, and passion. As Project Manager, stok led schedule and budget administration, and contributed to a value engineering approach that ensured the team maintained design standards while achieving budget and schedule goals.
Project Details: Brought on after a month delay in the design process, stok’s greatest challenge as Project Manager was maintaining the schedule to achieve Bridgespan’s goals on the original project timeline. With expert communication and schedule management, the 66-workstation office was occupied in under seven months. stok collaborated with the team on a value engineering approach that supplied alternates for consideration at major design milestones to keep the project within budget. To ensure that the new space reflected Bridgespan’s values as well as the local California team’s goals, the design team held a workshop to solicit input from Bridgespan’s San Francisco employees. As a result, the final design included biophilic elements, met Title 24 standards, and created an open office and free-address environment tailored to the way Bridgespan works. The addition of ample types of meeting spaces, from small two-person conference rooms to an all-hands space provided by a movable wall, as well as multiple heads-down spaces, allows for an office that meets all of Bridgespan’s functional needs.
